Intercom
Connect Intercom and your assistant can work with your customer support data — searching conversations, contacts, and companies, and managing Help Center articles.
What’s included
With Intercom connected, your assistant can:
- Search support activity — find conversations, contacts, and companies
- Manage your Help Center — create and update Help Center articles
Connecting Intercom
- Go to Integrations
- Find Intercom and click Connect
- Authorize Town in Intercom (sign in when prompted)
- Return to Town
Your assistant is limited to the workspaces your Intercom account can access. You can revoke access anytime from Intercom settings.
What your assistant can do
| Capability | What it does | Makes changes? |
|---|---|---|
| Search conversations | Find support conversations | No |
| Search contacts and companies | Look up customers and accounts | No |
| Manage Help Center articles | Create and update articles | Yes |
Use cases
- Customer context — “what has Acme written in recently?” before a call.
- Docs from tickets — turn a recurring question into a Help Center article.
- Support summaries — routines that summarize this week’s conversations.
Good to know
- US-hosted Intercom workspaces only for now — Intercom’s EU MCP endpoint is a separate server, and AU-hosted workspaces aren’t supported.
- Help Center changes are customer-facing — use approval-required tool settings in routines that edit articles.
