WhatsApp

Use WhatsApp as a first-class channel for Town. Message your assistant directly from the WhatsApp app, including text, photos, and voice notes.

What’s included

With WhatsApp connected, your assistant can:

  • Respond to direct messages — Ask questions and run tasks from WhatsApp
  • Handle media-aware conversations — Include photo context in assistant requests
  • Process voice notes — Send spoken requests and get actionable responses
  • Support approvals in-channel — Complete supported approval flows without switching apps

Connecting WhatsApp

  1. Go to Integrations
  2. Find WhatsApp and click Connect
  3. Complete the connection flow for your WhatsApp number
  4. Open WhatsApp and message your assistant

WhatsApp works best for on-the-go requests, quick follow-ups, and photo/voice-first workflows.

Typical use cases

Mobile capture

Take a photo and send it to your assistant:

  • Receipts and expense processing
  • Whiteboard capture and recap
  • Quick visual triage

Voice-first requests

Send voice notes when typing is inconvenient:

  • “Draft a reply to the latest message from my client”
  • “Summarize what changed in this thread”
  • “Set up a workflow for this recurring request”

Fast async coordination

Use WhatsApp for lightweight workflow interactions:

  • Status checks
  • Follow-up prompts
  • Approval actions (for supported flows)

Reliability notes

Town includes delivery and typing reliability improvements for WhatsApp interactions. If a message appears delayed:

  • Check your WhatsApp network connection
  • Retry once in the same thread
  • Confirm the integration is still connected in Town
  • Integrations — All available integrations
  • iOS App — Native mobile app for voice and quick actions
