How to connect the Stardex MCP to Town

  1. Open Integrations in Town

Go to Integrations in your Town workspace (free to create) and find Stardex.

  2. Authorize the connection

Sign in to Stardex when prompted. Town connects through Stardex's official MCP server (stardex.com/mcp), so there's nothing to install or configure.

  3. Put your searches to work

Done — ask about any search or candidate, get briefed before calls, and keep your pipeline current with your approval.

Just ask your Townie

Stardex holds the search. Town keeps it moving from your calls, inbox, and calendar.

  • “Brief me before my 2pm with the Atlas Partners CFO candidate.”

Their Stardex record, meeting notes, and your last emails, in one brief.

  • “Which candidates from past searches fit this new CRO role?”

Past candidates searched across Stardex, ranked against the new spec in a sheet you can work from.

  • “Log my call with Dana Whitfield and remind me to follow up Friday.”

The call logged to her Stardex record for your approval, the follow-up on your Town to-do list.

Stardex integration FAQ

The Stardex MCP is Stardex's hosted Model Context Protocol server at stardex.com/mcp — the official integration surface Stardex maintains. MCP is the open standard that lets AI assistants securely work with data from apps — in this case your candidates, companies, jobs, searches, tasks, and meeting notes. Town connects to it in one click; no API keys or local setup.

Access runs through your own Stardex sign-in, so your Townie can never see or do more than your Stardex account can, and it reads data on demand — there's no background sync or copied database. By default, changes to your records are held for your approval before they land. Read more about how Town approaches security.

By default, no — stage moves, activity notes, and record edits are drafted and held for your approval, so nothing lands in the system your searches run on without you seeing it. In routines you trust, you can allow specific Stardex actions to run automatically, or set any action back to Always ask.

People, companies, jobs, and searches, plus candidates and their pipeline stages, activity history, documents, meeting recordings and notes, lists, tasks, and deals. With your approval your Townie can also create and update people and activities, move candidates between stages, upload documents, and manage lists and tasks.

A Stardex account and a Town account — free to start. You sign in with your own Stardex login when you connect, and the connection works on every Town plan, for yourself or shared with your team.

No — Stardex stays your system of record. Town keeps it fed and puts it to work: candidate calls get prepped and logged, searches stay current, and the questions a client asks get answered from live data.
